High-Ranking Afghan Delegation To Probe Recent Civilian Casualties In Kandahar

Kabul (BNA) A high-ranking Afghan delegation instructed by president Hamid Karzai has started its probe related to killing of Afghan civilians in a NATO air strike.
The delegation commenced its probes during the meeting with local people.
It is expected that the delegation will submit its reports to the president.
According to reports, last Tuesday NATO helicopters launched attacks on Siachoy area in Zheri district, resulted in killing of six children and one aged person.
They belonged to one family.
After the incident, NATO said it wanted to target armed Taliban insurgents who were planting roadside mines, but civilians were killed mistakenly in the incident.
President of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan has condemned the attack and sent a high-ranking government delegation to probe the incident.
NATO has regretted over the incident and said they also started probing in this regard.
