Acting Economy Minister and UN Official Discuss Plans for Humanitarian Aid and Developmental Cooperation

KABUL (BNA) Qari Din Mohammad Hanif, the Acting Minister of Economy, held a productive meeting today, Wednesday with an official of the United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA).

The meeting primarily focused on strengthening and expanding cooperation between Afghanistan and the UN in both humanitarian and developmental spheres.

The discussions centered on mobilizing humanitarian assistance to alleviate the widespread financial and human losses caused by the recent floods.

During the meeting, the Acting Minister of Economy reaffirmed the Ministry’s unwavering commitment to allocate all available domestic resources and foreign aid in accordance with national priorities.

The OCHA official expressed deep sympathy for the victims of the recent floods and assured continued support from UN agencies.

He emphasized that the UN would provide ongoing humanitarian assistance, emergency aid, and developmental support to the people of Afghanistan, underscoring the organization’s dedication to helping the nation recover from the devastating natural disaster.
