70th Establishment Anniversary of Hewad Daily Marked in Kabul

Kabul (BNA) 70th establishment anniversary of Hewad Daily was marked at Kabul Public Library yesterday.
In a ceremony held on this occasion, director of government dailies Farid Ahmad Farhang spoke and said that Hewad Daily, which started its operation 70 years ago, has changed to a national newspaper due to efforts of its employees despite of touching ups and downs in the past few decades.
Meanwhile, deputy minister of publication affairs for information and culture Fazil Sancharaki spoke and said that the Hewad Daily, considered as one of the most significant and valuable government newspapers, started its publication under the leadership of the country’s top poet and writer Ustad Abdul Rauf Benewa in 1949 and has put good impact on illuminating the public minds during the past history.
“The newspaper has achieved big honors during 70 years of its publication as it has overcome all ups and downs facing the newspaper in the past years,” Sancharaki said, adding that a comprehensive plan had been delivered to the ministry of finance for digitalized printing government dailies, but unfortunately the ministry failed to cooperate with the MoIC in this regard.
Afterwards, president advisor on cultural affairs, Zarin Anzor shared his visions for addressing problems of government dailies with participants in the ceremony.
Meanwhile, Najibullah Shinwari, who was working once as editor in chief of Hewad Daily, also spoke related to problems facing the newspapers.
Deputy of commission on access to information Najiba Muram and editor in chief of Hewad Daily Ahmad Zalmay Shabbaz also spoke related to publications of the newspapers.
