Forty Five Types of Eye Drop Produced In Herat, Officials

Monday, July 20, 2015
Kabul (BNA) Noor Hospital authorities in Herat province have stated that forty five types of eye drop are produced for the eye diseases treatment.
Naser Akhunzada, head of Noor Hospital said currently, more than 45 types of eye drops are produced in Herat Noor Hospital; he added we can produce 10 to 12 thousands bottles in every month.
The medicines are produced based on the world standard and according the requirements which are felt by patients in this country, Akhundzada pointed out.
Akhundzada has described that the raw material and the needed powder which are applied in the medicine combinations are imported through the ILM organization abroad.
The eye drops which are prepared by the hospital’s budget, are put in the disposal of the people, he further said
However, the officials have urged that the hospital is confronting with the shortage of the working forces to produce the medicine. It was stated that despite these challenges the hospital’s personnel do not spare any efforts to precede this process.
Mohammad Mehdi, Herat provincial council’s member is convinced that the process would bring positive changes on self-sufficiency, and at the same time, it is a good opinion that the local organs should draw their consideration on the supervision of this efficient action.
The people can use the production with confidence, because it is produced in Afghanistan, Mehdi added.
Before the civil war, Afghanistan had the medicine-producing factories, but unfortunately as a result of civil war in Afghanistan, these factories have been destroyed. So it is expected that the foreign and domestic donors to take serious measures to reconstruct the medicine-producing factories.
The National Unity Government should concentrate its considerable effort to support such factories and provide the ground for the patience to utilize such possibilities.
