Milli Shifa Pharmaceutical’s Serum Production Factory Makes Historic Export to Iraq

 

KABUL(BNA): For the first time, Milli Shifa Pharmaceuticals’ serum factory proudly exported an impressive 1.8 million medical serum bottles worth $580,000 to Iraq.

At a gathering held in Kabul to mark this momentous occasion, Nisar Ahmad Tarki, the head of Milli Shifa Pharmaceuticals, stated that with the reestablishment of the Islamic Emirate, overall security in the country has been ensured, providing a favorable environment for investors and industries to thrive.

He further conveyed heartfelt gratitude for the comprehensive support of the leaders and officials of the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan across various fields, vowing unwavering dedication to bolstering the Islamic system and catering to the welfare of the citizens with utmost diligence.

Mawlawi Khairullah Khairkhwa, the Acting Minister of Information and Culture, continued to praise the endeavors of the mentioned factory and stated that anyone aiming to develop Afghanistan must engage in pragmatic reconciliation and steer clear of the empty and harmful propaganda spread by adversaries.

“In the upcoming years, witnessing progress in the industry and bolstering the economy remains a challenging feat in contemporary history. Despite facing unjust sanctions, IEA continues its resilient journey towards development and self-sufficiency.” Dr. Abdul Bari Omar, the Acting Head of Afghanistan’s Food and Drug Authority, said.

He continued that prior to the establishment of IEA, approximately 90% of medications entered Afghanistan through illegal channels. However, now 80% are legally imported, and the influx of smuggled medicines has been prevented.

Moreover, Mawlawi Qodratullah Jamal, Deputy Minister of Industry and Commerce and Mawlawi Abdul Wali Haqqani, Deputy Minister of Health Services praised investor initiatives and reaffirmed the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan’s strong support for investors and industrialists, fostering self sufficiency and bolstering employment opportunities.

It’s worth mentioning that the Mili Shifa Pharmaceuticals factory has the capability to produce 43.2 million serum bottles and 70 million syringes annually. Moreover, it employs 350 professionals including pharmacists, chemists, microbiologists, engineers, and skilled workers.
