Capacity Building Plan For Police Devised: MoI

Kabul (BNA) The spokesman for interior ministry, Sediq Sediqqi said yesterday that ministry had chalked out a 10 year plan to improve the police capability and standardizing it.
Addressing a press conference here noted with the implementation of the plan the police will become professional in ensuring law and order in the country.
He also added that 600 policemen after completion of a six month training course in Turkey had returned home yesterday.
According to Sediqi, more Afghan police will be sent to Turkey for receiving training in the coming months.
With regard to ensuring security on the national highways, he added that the deputy to interior ministry Abdul Rahman Rahman had toured Wardak, Ghazni, Kandahar, Helmand and Farah provinces and collected 1600 pieces of rifles from illegal armed groups.
Sediqi also said that police are enough capable to conduct operations independently, complying with the presidential order and would not seek air support from foreign troops.
