Afghanistan Attracts Russian Investment Interest Following Productive Kazan Forum 2024

 

KABUL(BNA): The Acting Minister of Industry and Commerce, in a meeting with the Deputy Prime Minister for Political Affairs, stated that Russian companies and institutions have expressed interest in investing in Afghanistan.

ARG announced in a statement that Mawlawi Abdul Kabir, the Deputy Prime Minister for Political Affairs of the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan, held a significant meeting with Nooruddin Azizi, the Acting Minister of Industry and Commerce, at the Sapidar Palace.

During the meeting, Nooruddin Azizi briefed the Deputy Prime Minister on his participation in the 15th International Economic Summit ‘Russia-Islamic World (KazanForum 2024) held in Tatarstan. He described the trip as highly productive, particularly in the areas of exports and trade.

In his remarks, he mentioned that Russian companies and institutions have shown a keen interest in investing in Afghanistan.

Meanwhile, the Deputy PM for Political Affairs stated that visits by top officials of the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan show their intent to engage with the international community, including neighboring and regional countries, in political, economic, and cultural relations.

It’s worth mentioning that Nouruddin Azizi, the Acting Minister of Industry and Commerce, traveled to Tatarstan at the invitation of President Rustam Minnikhanov to attend the 15th International Economic Forum of Russia and the Islamic World in Kazan, held from the 14th to the 19th of May.
