According to the law, the U.S. forces should enjoy further resources in this regard and 9,800 US soldiers will remain in Afghanistan until April of 2017. Calling approval of the law and the Kabul-Washington security agreement as a fresh breath to the Afghan security forces, the ministries of defense and interior welcomed U.S. continued military assistances to Afghanistan.  Brig. Gen. Dawlat Waziri, spokesperson for the ministry of defense said, ‘this step of the U.S. can be effective in suppressing insurgents and terrorists in the country.’ Presence of the U.S. forces besides Afghan security forces can have positive results in fighting terrorism and extremism, security officials said. Meanwhile, lower house representatives and experts called continuation of insecurity concerning, stressing Afghanistan is still the victim of terrorism, and threats by the insurgent groups will negatively affect security and stability of the country.
Therefore, establishing military bases and long-term continued cooperation of the U.S. and Resolute Support (RS) mission with the people of Afghanistan is a must, lawmakers and experts further said. Afghanistan is one of the countries which have given the most victims in fighting terrorism, therefore, NATO, particularly, the U.S. should continue cooperation with Afghan security forces, because, ANSF is still facing serious challenges in term of military equipment, Eqbal Safi, a lawmaker said. There is no doubt, when the Kabul-Washington security pact has been signed, the suicide attacks have increased in Afghanistan, Eqbal added. And Pakistan—the main supporter of terrorism has shown negative reactions against signing the agreement, because since then, the Afghan security forces have been supported by the foreign air and ground forces which was a matter of concern to the insurgent groups and their supporters, Safi continued.
Meanwhile, a number of military experts believe that the U.S. should decisively step up in fighting terrorism and insurgency and it should equip the ANSF with modern weapons to successfully fight in battlefields. This is while that fourteen years have passed since the presence of the international forces in Afghanistan, but still insecurity in some provinces of the country is continuing. Therefore, it is expected that deploying fresh-breath forces in Afghanistan can positively affect in fighting terrorism and ensuring security in the country.
