Kabul (BNA) Taliban’s shadow commander for the Salang district of central Parwan province has been killed along with two associates, an official said on Saturday.
Noor Aqa Same, Siagard district's administrative chief told BNA that dozens of insurgents stormed a security check-post, but they were pushed back.
Ari Manaf, the Taliban commander for Salang, was killed along with two other militants, he said. Five attackers were wounded in retaliatory fire from the security personnel.
The Taliban have not yet commented on the incident, which occurred late on Friday night.
