World Museum Day Marked

Kabul (BNA) The World Museum Day was observed in Kabul yesterday. 
Since 1356, May 18 has been observed as World Museum Day. 
In a function to observer the day, Sayed Musadiq Khalili the deputy to the ministry for information and culture said the day of having museum dates back to third century BC and the first museum was opened in Alexandria of Egypt. 
He also said there are more than 30000 museums across the world and museum reflects the civilizations of human beings throughout history. 
Director of Kabul Museum Omara Khan Masoudi also spoke on at the ceremony, highlighting the role of museums in promoting the culture and economy of the countries in the world. 
Head of UNESCO in Kabul, Edgar Sharog also spoke and announced its support to preservation of cultural heritages of Afghanistan.
