40th Death Anniversary of Mawlana Khasta Observed In Kabul

Kabul (BNA) To commemorate the 40th death anniversary of late Mawlana Khasta a seminar was organized by the Ministry of Information and Culture at the International Press Center.
Attended by family members of Mawlana Khasta, deputy ministers and advisors of information and culture, some scholars and cultural figures, the message of President Hamid Karzai was read out by Sayed Musadeq Khalili deputy minister of cultural affairs that read in a part: “In the last century some personalities emerged in cultural arena of our country who were poets, writers and researchers and their lives were closely linked with politics in the society and they left behind epics in these spheres.
Late Mawlana Khal Mohammad Khasta was such a personality in the past century that has served this country and left behind valuable works.
The message praises the Ministry of Information and Culture for this initiative.
Dr. Sayed Makhdoom Raheen Minister of Information and Culture also spoke on the life, personality and different dimensions of cultural and literary works of Mawlana Khal Mohammad Khasta and praised his services in culture and politics.
Mawlana was apparently a humble and calm person but he had much in his heart for the deprived people of our society.
He was also a man of politics, and passed his life in poverty and deprivation but never subdued to any powerful men.
Humaira Qaderi advisor to the labor and social affairs, martyrs and the disabled ministry also talked on the life and tours of Mawlana Khasta to India for gaining knowledge.
Other participants also spoke at the seminar and expressed their views on the life and works of Malana.
At the end of the seminar Mohammad Yusuf Khasta son of Mawlana Khasta thanked the Ministry of Information and Culture for holding of the seminar and the participants of the seminar.
