Afghanistan and Iranian Officials Discuss Strengthening Economic Cooperation and Aid for Returning Refugees

KABUL (BNA) Qari Deen Mohammad Hanif, the Acting Minister of Economy of the Islamic Emirate, held a productive meeting with Sayed Hossain Mortazawi, the Deputy Embassy of the Islamic Republic of Iran in Kabul.

The discussions primarily centered around bolstering economic cooperation, fostering export development, and addressing transit issues between the two nations.

During the meeting, both sides emphasized the importance of strengthening economic ties to promote mutual growth and prosperity.

The officials deliberated on various avenues for cooperation, including trade facilitation measures, investment opportunities, and joint ventures.

They acknowledged the potential for increased collaboration in sectors such as agriculture, energy, infrastructure, and manufacturing, which could contribute to the overall economic development of Afghanistan.

In addition to economic matters, the Deputy Minister of the Iranian Embassy in Kabul expressed Iran’s commitment to providing humanitarian aid to Afghan refugees returning to their homeland.

The Iranian government pledged to deliver essential humanitarian packages, comprising food and other necessities, to the Refugee Committee under the Ministry of Economy.

Both parties expressed optimism about the outcomes of the meeting and reiterated their commitment to implementing the discussed measures effectively.

The discussions between Qari Deen Mohammad Hanif and Sayed Hossain Mortazawi serve as a testament to the shared vision of Afghanistan and Iran in promoting economic cooperation and supporting Afghan refugees.
