Kabul (BNA) The Interior Ministry spokesman briefed regarding the security improvement in some parts of Helmand province.
Interior Ministry spokesman, Seddiq Seddeqi told yesterday at a press conference in Kabul that operation in Sangin district of Helmand province had good progress. He stressed that the Afghan security forces mainly focused their attention towards mopping-up operation in Sangin district, also for full cleaning of this district, heavy fighting is continuing in which the enemy suffered heavy losses. In fresh developments, 50 Taliban terrorists were killed and wounded, he added. Seddeqi added that in heavy battles, a number of Afghan security forces were also killed and wounded. Seddeqi stated that special operations have been started to crush enemies in Gereshk, Kajaki, Khanshin districts and ammunitions and weapons were supplied for security forces.
