Kabul (BNA) President Hamid Karzai strongly condemned the air bombardments of the US forces on the Seyagerd district of Parwan province as a result of which a woman and 7 children were martyred.
A statement released by the President’s spokesperson said that as a result of US airstrike on the Sadara and Waghez areas of Seyagerd district of Parwan province a woman and 7 children were martyred and another civilian injured.
President Karzai said that the government of Afghanistan for years has been demanding stop to the operations in villages of Afghanistan, while the US forces against bilateral agreements and contrary to the guarantees it has given in President Obama’s letter, once again resorted to air bombardments of a residential area and killing of civilians.
In President Obama’s letter it was stated that “our forces will respect the homes of the people of Afghanistan, and we continue our efforts for respecting the honors and credibility of Afghan people in their homes and their routine lives in the same manner that we want honors for our own people.”
President Karzai has assigned a delegation to assess this incident in the Seyagerd district and convey sympathies to the martyred families and with cooperation of Parwan Governor, the provincial council, religious ulama, and local elders assess the incident and specify casualties and damages and prepare a report for the presidential office in three days.
