President Karzai Speaks By Phone With Relative Of The Victims Killed By NATO Airstrike In Logar Province

Kabul (BNA) President Hamid Karzai spoke by phone from China with Yar Mohammad, a relative of the victims who lost their lives in an airstrike carried out by the NATO forces in Baraki Barak district of Logar province.
During the telephone conversation, President Karzai offered Yar his deepest condolences and sympathies over loss of his family members, while Logar governor and a delegation sent by the President and led by Shahzada Masoud to probe into the incident were present in the area.
Yar Mohammad briefed the President on the how of the tragedy and called for serious investigation of the civilian deaths and prosecution of the perpetrators.
President Karzai assured of a serious probe and stressed that due to the tragic loss; he has cut short his official trip currently underway in China and would very soon return home.
