Govt. Supporting Any Steps Taken for Industrialization of Kandahar, President Ghani

Kabul (BNA) President Mohammad Ashraf Ghani on second day of his visit to Kandahar met yesterday with traders and businessmen of Kandahar and heard their demands and problems.
In the meeting attended by governor of Kandahar Hayatullah Hayat, first Nasrullah Zaheer, Nimatullah Nimat and Mohammad Sayed, representing others, spoke and thanked the country’s President for particular attention to industry and domestic products, sharing their demands and problems with the President.
After hearing their demands and suggestions, the country’s President praised Kandahar traders for their attention to industry and domestic products, saying that there was no news in connection with work in the field of industry in Kandahar five years ago, but today there are good news as there is a big manufacturing factory producing medicines and another factory producing juice from Kandahar fruits.
“Industrialization of Kandahar has been started and this step is fully supported by me and the government of Afghanistan,” President Ghani said, asking all government institutions to prefer to include domestic products in their procurement affairs. The country’s President also instructed all ANA corpses to make use of juices produced from Kandahar fruits.
In the meantime, President Mohammad Ashraf Ghani ordered governor of Kandahar Hayatullah Hayat to consider 20,000 acres of land for industrial park of Kandahar, adding that the park would be named after Abdul Majeed Zabuli.
