Afghanistan and Turkmenistan Forge $200 Million Trade Partnership in Landmark Agreement

KABUL (BNA) The Ministry of Industry and Commerce of the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan and the Union of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs of Turkmenistan have solidified a momentous trade partnership through the signing of 13 commercial contracts worth $200 million USD.

The signing ceremony took place on Monday, marking a significant milestone for both nations.

Nooruddin Azizi, the Acting Minister of Industry and Commerce of the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan, expressed his satisfaction with the outcome of his recent visit to Turkmenistan and highlighted the constructive and sincere diplomatic dialogue between the two countries as a key factor in the successful negotiations.

Nokerguly Atagulyev, the head of the Industrialists and Entrepreneurs of Turkmenistan, echoed Azizi’s sentiments and conveyed his optimism regarding the newfound agreements.

Atagulyev also revealed that ongoing negotiations are underway to facilitate the transportation of products from the Herat Industrial Town to Turkmenistan in the near future.

The governor of Herat, Mawlawi Noor Ahmad Islam Jar, emphasized the significance of producing standardized products by manufacturing companies in the province.

These momentous agreements and contracts in the construction sector encompass a wide range of items, including rebar, paint, marble, and foodstuffs.

The collective value of these contracts surpasses $200 million dollars, demonstrating the substantial economic impact of this partnership.

The trade partnership between Afghanistan and Turkmenistan is poised to strengthen bilateral relations and foster mutually beneficial economic growth. This collaboration holds tremendous potential for both countries, opening up new avenues for trade and investment while bolstering regional stability and prosperity.
