Minister Jahani Termed Conference of Culture Ministers For Islamic Countries Positive

Kabul (BNA) Abdul Bari Jahani minister of information and culture, who attended the 9th conference of the ministers of culture of Islamic countries held in Oman capital Masqat, said the conference was successful and positive.
Minister Jahani who returned home the other day said that the conference opened on Nov. 2 and concluded on Nov. 4 attended by ministers of culture of Islamic countries, UNESCO and international agencies, matters relating the problems of Islamic world and finding solutions were discussed.
The minister stated that false publication in western media against Islam was discussed and it was decided to check the extremism and fundamentalist movements such as Boko Haram, Daesh and other extremist groups in the Islamic countries which defame Islam should be checked. The participants also discussed the ways and means on how to check the threats of terrorist groups against Islam, the minister asserted. Minister Jahani who spoke at the conference on problems of Islamic world especially Afghanistan wished for the end of extremism and insecurity in the Islamic world.
The minister also called for strengthening unity and cooperation among Islamic countries. Aimed at researching cultural issues in the Islamic countries and organized by the culture, science and knowledge organization in each two years, Oman was the host of conference in 2015.
