Government Should End Afghans Migration Crisis, House

Wednesday March 16, 2016

Kabul (BNA) Amid insecurities and lack of employment, most of the Afghan youth have forced to leave their country and sought asylum in different countries of the world.
But, what would be the aftermaths of these immigrations? Why do our youth accept the problems and leave their country? What are the strategies of the government to prevent continued Afghan migrations? Calling the Afghan migration crisis concerning, a number of lawmakers, experts, civil society organizations and some citizens said, ‘The donor countries could not yet help Afghanistan in creation of job opportunities, ensuring security and eradication of poverty during the last fourteen years.’ An MP, Naqibullah Fayeq said, ‘The government of national unity should make effort to improve the situation of the country, so the people not to leave for abroad anymore.’ Most of the Afghans have sold whatever they had in here and sought refuge in foreign countries, as many of them, due to economic problems are not able to return, Fayeq further said. But, the host countries should pave some facilities to immigrants to stay there, Fayeq added. The government should not let our young force to leave Afghanistan and take some plans to prevent it, and the leaders promises should come into effect in this respect, Fayeq continued. A private university lecturer, Jawad Mohammadi said, ‘unfortunately, migration crisis is recently formed the world’s main challenge after terrorism, as the war-hit countries such as Afghanistan and Syria have the most refugees in the world.’ Unemployment, poverty and insecurity are the reasons behind Afghans immigrations to foreign countries, Mohammadi continued, adding but unfortunately, we are the witness that most of them have drowned into the European waters and fail to reach their destinations.
Expressing concern on Afghan educated youth immigrations to foreign countries, a Kabul University lecturer, Saifuddin Saihoon said, ‘Unfortunately, the government doesn’t have any specific plan to keep its citizens, as many problems in the country have caused our young generation to leave for abroad.’ Worsening of the security situation, increasing suicide attacks and intensifying fighting between the Afghan security forces and the enemies as well as broadcasting the news on Daesh presence in Afghanistan have coerced the Afghans to immigrate, Saihoon further said. Therefore, the government should take a specific plan to prevent these immigrations, Saihoon added. Islamuddin Juraat, spokesman for the ministry of refugees and returnees said, ‘Since six months, more than 122 thousand Afghans have sought refuge in foreign countries, particularly, in Germany.’ Thus, the public awareness project of the ministry is making effort to prevent illegal immigrations and we also need other related organizations assistance in this regard, Juraat further said. Meanwhile, a number political expert said, ‘Unfortunately, the NUG leaders’ promises have not been yet practiced, and the government doesn’t have any specific plan to fundamentally change the people lives’. This is while that in the last more than three decades, Afghanistan after Syria is the second country where have the most immigrants in the world.
