Kabul (BNA) US foreign secretary in NATO’s foreign ministers session has said that America is seeking a peace in Afghanistan that won’t destroy the achievements and sacrifices of the last eighteen years.
BNA political analyst commenting on the issue writes the session of foreign ministers of NATO members countries late last week hosting by US foreign minister held in Washington, Afghan issue was one of the issues discussed.
American foreign minister made it clear that America is seeking a peace in Afghanistan that would not destroy the achievements of the last 18 years in that country.
He has also said that America asks Taliban to assure that America would never threaten from the soil of Afghanistan.
Earlier to this, NATO general secretary in a meeting with US president had said that NATO was committed to maintaining the achievements of the last 18 years in Afghanistan and inter- Afghans negotiation was they to access peace in Afghanistan.
What have NATO general secretary have said and then US foreign secretary repeated is not a new word, Afghan government repeatedly announced that Afghan people prefer a honorable peace that safeguard of the achievements of the last eighteen years and observing the constitution would be the first and the last word. Afghan people want a peace and stability to be established with participation of all involved political parties, observing the constitution.
When we talk about negotiation and restoring stability, in the process the voice of everyone should be heard, because only one political group cannot settle the problem.
The people who are talking on restoring peace in Afghanistan and prefer talking only with a political party, should not forget that international community and big powers have commitments should be put in practice.
There is hope that in the process of peace negotiations, especially within the efforts carrying out by world community, the interests and the viewpoints of Afghan people and government that is the product of democratic efforts of the people should be strongly and precisely observed. Afghanistan is not a place for insuring the interests of one country or a special group. This is true that the other countries have legal interests and that is not secret to Afghan people, but respecting and observing the national interests of Afghanistan the legal interests of other countries automatically insured. It is also required the solution way of Afghan problem should be find in accordance with Afghans’ national interests.
Taliban in ever negotiation insist on withdrawal of foreign forces and this is the basic agenda in their meetings, while according to Afghan people and international community view, there are many issues required to be discussed, analyzed and finally make a decision.
Taliban should know that Afghanistan never returns to the dark period that was the product of Taliban’s way of thinking, because the constitution and observing national and democratic value guarantees the future of Afghanistan and meets the aspirations of its people.
