India Advocate for Boosting Trade with Afghanistan via Chabahar Port

Kabul (BNA): J.P. Singh, India’s Special representative for Afghanistan, has expressed India’s keen interest in expanding trade with Afghanistan through the Chabahar Port.

In a meeting held at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs headquarters, Mr. Singh conveyed this message to several Afghan merchants.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs issued a statement highlighting the discussions that took place during the meeting.

The talks centered around economic matters, transit concerns, and the facilitation of visas for Afghan traders.

Afghan merchants recognized the vital role that bilateral trade between Afghanistan and India plays in the economic advancement of both nations.

They emphasized the need to further expand this trade and urged for the resolution of issues faced by Afghan traders in India, as well as the streamlining of visa issuance procedures.

India’s special representative for Afghanistan, J.P. Singh, assured the Afghan traders that their concerns would be taken seriously.

He pledged to address the existing issues and facilitate visa issuance, acknowledging the importance of increasing imports and exports in bilateral trade.

Mr. Singh emphasized India’s strong desire for trade growth through the Chabahar Port, which serves as an important gateway for trade between India, Afghanistan, and other countries in the region.
