Defense Ministry Spokesman Rejects New York Times, Washington Post Reports

Kabul (BNA) The spokesman for defense ministry has rejected the reports of the New York Times and Washington Post on handing over Bagram detention center as irresponsible and groundless. 
The spokesman said that agreement on transferring the Bagram detention center to Afghan government was inked by Defense minister General Abdul Rahim Wardak and General John Allen the commander of ISAF forces in Afghanistan on 19 Hoot 1390. 
Under the agreement the transferring process of the prison to Afghan side would be completed within six months. 
The people of Afghanistan during Loya Jirga or grand assembly of elders held in 25 Aqrab 1390 advised the government to take over the control of Bagram prison from American forces and thieving this agreement is the prime projects of president of Afghanistan as a step towards achieving national sovereignty. 
The people of Afghanistan, government and the defense ministry are determined to implement the agreement and take the control of the Bagram prison in accordance with agreement inked between the two sides. 
The spokesman also noted that using the term of “vote” by a ranking security official is irresponsible and irritating. 
The Defense ministry of Afghanistan and ISAF are determined to implement the agreement with mutual cooperation all its contents and spirit.
