Dr. Abdullah Receives Elders of Parwan, Kapisa

Kabul (BNA) The Chief Executive Officer Dr. Abdullah Abdullah and his deputy Al-Haj Mohammad Mohaqiq received yesterday a delegation of elders including religious scholars, commanders and parliamentarians from Kapisa and Parwan provinces, BNA reported. Speaking at the meeting, on behalf of others Abdul Sattar Murad, Abdul Rahim Rashid and Ghulam Dastgir announced the support of people to the Chief Executive Officer and the national unity government.  Describing both Dr. Abdullah and Mohaqiq as popular leaders of the country, they expressed hope that the new government would be able to overcome the challenges and serve the people. In his speech, Al-Haj Mohaqiq said that the people of Shamali had made achievements during Jihad and resistance succeeded and had stood as an unconquered castle against invaders.
He also called upon the people of Shamali to support the national unity government and its programs. Speaking in the meeting, the chief executive officer, Dr. Abdullah besides paying tributes to the martyrs said that he would never forget the support of the Shamali people in restoring the rights of the people of Afghanistan. “Your active participation in the elections demonstrates your believe in democracy. Peace and security in the country and formation of national unity government is the outcome of your sacrifices,” Dr. Abdullah pointed out in his speech. The Chief Executive Officer said that one of his promises was to reform the election commission and the process would soon begin. Convening Loya Jirga and amendment of the constitution is another promise given to the people and that would be implemented. He also hoped that the cabinet will be formed soon to begin its work.
