NSA Atmar, Gen. Joseph Discuss War On Terror

Kabul (BNA) National Security Advisor (NSA) Mohammad Hanif Atmar met US Central Command General Joseph Votel in his office yesterday.
Both side discussed Afghan security force’s performance and capabilities, equipping of Afghan Air Forces as well as foiling terrorists’ vicious plans in ongoing combat season by the Afghan forces. Informing the US general on Afghan Forces’ readiness in this combat season, NSA Atmar emphasized on further air supports via the Resolute Support Mission. Hinting to regional consensus against terrorism, Mohammad Hanif Atmar asked US official to do more for creating regional consensus in war on terror.
Assuring US troops full support of the Afghan forces in war on terror, General Joseph said the shortages of the Afghan forces to be evaluated and would be equipped in line with the assessments. According to NSA press office, both sides continued the meeting with discussions on regional fight against terrorism, peace negotiations with Taliban and impacts of President Trump’s strategy for South Asia and Afghanistan.
