Anti-Afghan Culture Signboards To Be Amended

Kabul (BNA) Chaired by acting mayor of Kabul Eng. Mohammad Aslam Akrami, a session was held yesterday for changing and amendment of those boards which are against country’s culture.
In the session held with participation of deputy minister of publication affairs for information and culture Sayeda Mujgan Mostafavi, representatives of laws department for MoPH and enterprise union, changing of those signboards are against the country’s culture and installed over shops, markets and others was discussed. In the session, it was stressed that the country’s formal languages should be considered as texts in boards, commercial advertisements and billboards and foreign languages should be prevented in the respective boards.
In the session, deputy minister of publications for information and culture suggested that a joint working committee should be set up between MoIC and Kabul municipality with participation of representatives of relevant organs so that a working procedure to be prepared for amending the boards, asserting that presence of low standardized boards has made the city disgusting.
