Fifth World Media Summit Begins in Guangzhou, China

KABUL (BNA): Mawlavi Zia-ul-Haq Haqmal, Director of Bakhtar News Agency attended the Fifth World Media Summit held in Guangzhou, China where he shared his valuable insights about the importance of the role of media.

According to a BNA reporter from Guangzhou city of China, the summit, themed “Boosting Global Confidence, Promoting Media Development,” attracted 450 officials and media owners from 101 countries.

During the opening ceremony, senior officials from 197 media outlets, including Xinhua, TASS, Reuters, Associated Press, IRNA, Kyodo, and Bakhtar News Agency, were present at the event.

Chinese government officials, international organizations, foreign diplomats residing in China, and representatives from UN-related entities also attended the summit.

The discussions among the participants of this assembly, taking place from December 2 to 8, will revolve around media opportunities and challenges, media collaboration and strengthening, building trust among media outlets, the role of media in global significant events, media digitization, and the impact of artificial intelligence on media activities.

The World Media Summit, initiated by Xinhua, TASS, Reuters, and other media organizations in 2009, aims to coordinate, expand, and strengthen collaboration among media entities.
