Afghanistan and Iran Seek to Strengthen Relations and Cooperation in Various Fields

 

KABUL (BNA) In a meeting between Mawlavi Abdul Kabir, Deputy Prime Minister for Political Affairs of the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan, and Sayeed Hassan Kazemi Qomi, the Iranian ambassador in Kabul and Special Envoy of the Iranian President for Afghanistan, both sides expressed their commitment to fostering good relations and expanding cooperation in an atmosphere of mutual respect.

During the meeting, Ambassador Qomi highlighted the positive progress made by the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan in the political arena, as evidenced by the increased visits of foreign delegations to Kabul. He assured Afghanistan of Iran’s cooperation in areas such as water management, health, economy, higher education, and environmental protection. Qomi also emphasized the potential benefits of utilizing the Chabahar port for trade between Afghanistan and Iran.

However, Qomi expressed concerns about certain parties attempting to damage the relations between Kabul and Tehran. He called for joint meetings between Afghan and Iranian scholars to establish a solid foundation for cooperation between both sides.

Deputy Prime Minister Mawlavi Abdul Kabir condemned the occupation attacks by the Israeli Zionist regime in the region. He made it clear that the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan does not support escalating tensions and believes that the withdrawal of Israeli forces from Gaza is the only viable solution.

Moreover, Mawlavi Abdul Kabir expressed the Islamic Emirate’s intention to develop strong political, economic, and cultural ties with the Islamic Republic of Iran.

Highlighting the potential for investment, the Deputy Prime Minister called on Iranian investors to consider opportunities in Afghanistan. He assured that the Islamic Emirate is committed to collaborating with regional countries to enhance stability and development in the region.

Mawlavi Kabir emphasized that Afghanistan’s stance towards all countries is one of good relations and expanding interaction in an atmosphere of mutual respect. He further urged regional countries to participate in the implementation of regional projects for the benefit of all involved.
