COVID-19: Afghanistan Reports 303 New Cases, 11 Deaths

Kabul (BNA) Ministry of Public Health (MoPH) on Tuesday reported 303 new positive cases of COVID-19 out of 1,809 samples tested in the last 24 hours.

According to BNA report, the ministry also reported 11 deaths and 108 recoveries from COVID-19 in the same period.

Based on provinces; the new cases reported in The new cases were reported in Kabul (125), Herat (7), Kandahar (42), Balkh (16), Nangarhar (18), Kunduz (7), Nimroz (7), Faryab (1), Parwan (1), Helmand (18), Bamiyan (3), Maidan/Wardak (7), Badakhshan (2), Daikundi (5), Ghazni (6), Kunar (3), Laghman (9), Panjshir (5), Zabul (5), Urozgan (10), Khost (1) and Farah (5).

Meanwhile, the deaths were reported in provinces of Kabul (5), Herat (1), Kandahar (1), Helmand (2), Laghman (1) and Panjshir (2).

The ministry says the cumulative total of known COVID-19 cases is 64,122, the total number of reported deaths is 2,762 and the total number of recoveries is 55,118.

So far, 434,506 samples have been tested in government centers and there are 6,242 known active COVID-19 cases in the country, according to worldometers.

The number of deaths from COVID-19 globally is more than 3,391,032 and the number of known global coronavirus cases is 163,666,489, according to Johns Hopkins University.
