President Ghani Invites Pakistani PM To Kabul

Kabul (BNA) President Mohammad Ashraf Ghani met Pakistan’s National Security Advisor (NSA) Nasser Janjua, here at the presidential palace yesterday, a statement from the presidential press office said.
According to the statement, both sides discussed Afghan government’s peace offer to Taliban and beginning of talks with Pakistan.
Besides comprehensive talk on importance and effectiveness of regional cooperation, in particular among the two countries, the two sides also discussed financial crime and activities of the terrorist groups and the ways to fight them, the statement added.
Meanwhile to begin state to state talks as discussed in 2nd Kabul Process Meeting, President Mohammad Ashraf Ghani invited Pakistani prime Minister to visit Kabul, the statement concluded as saying.
According to another report, Chief Executive Dr. Abdullah Abdullah met with Pakistani National Security Advisor Sapidar Palace yesterday.
Both sides discussed enhancing bilateral ties, Afghan-led peace process and recent cross border shillings of Pakistan on eastern provinces of Afghanistan.
Dr. Abdullah said there were new opportunities for Afghanistan and Pakistan to restore friendly ties, asking Pakistan to step up effort for establishing trust between the two countries.
Meanwhile Pakistani NSA hoped that joint technical committee of the two countries find solution for the ongoing problems and improve the bilateral ties.
The meeting also discussed issuing of joint fatwa by the two countries’ Ulema on reprobation of war in Afghanistan.
