President Ghani Persuades Indian Investment In Afghanistan

Kabul (BNA) President Mohammad Ashraf Ghani during his three-day visit to India in a meeting with Indian businessmen encouraged them to invest in Afghanistan.
In the meeting also attended by Afghan businessmen, the president said that condition for investment in Afghanistan is conducive and the government would provide security for Indian businessmen if they invest in Afghanistan.
The president said in the meeting that Indian investors by investment in Afghanistan can find way to the Central Asian states. According to another report, President Ghani in talks with Afghan and Indian journalists during his visit to India said that Afghanistan should be turned into economically strong and producing country, because it has important geographical location and is rich of natural resources worth some $3trillion.  President Ghani also held meeting with key members of confederation of the chambers of commerce & industries of India and emphasized for boosting trade and economic relation between the two countries. Afghanistan has good skill in making jewelry and ornaments for women and capacity for textile products, the president added, adding his government wants the Afghan businessmen to access to Indian markets. The president said that Afghan businesswomen would attend the SAARC exhibition expected to be held in India in near future as a step to find market for their products in India. Hinting at expanding trade relations, the president said that Afghanistan exports dried fruits to India which doesn’t need freezer, while for exporting fresh fruits we need to find ways because they spoil. Afghanistan government, the president said welcomes local and foreign investors and would provide all facilities to national and foreign companies if invest in any sector in the country.
