‘Afghanistan Local Food and Handicrafts’ Festival’ Kicked Off In Kabul

Kabul (BNA) Deputy Minister of finance, administrative and tourism for information and culture Sayeda Mojgan Mostafavi opened handicraft exhibition and local food festival on the occasion of 100th anniversary of Afghanistan Independence Sunday evening in Kabul.
At the opening ceremony attended by a number of officials of the ministry of information and culture, high-ranking government officials, daughters of King Amanullah Khan Princess Hendia and Princess Najia and a number of domestic and foreign guests, deputy minister of finance, administrative and tourism for the MoIC spoke and besides congratulating the 100th anniversary of Afghanistan Independence, offered condolence and sympathy to the families of those martyred and wounded in recent terrorist attack in Kabul.
Mostafavi added that the festival has been held by the ministry of information and culture with close cooperation of Kabul Serena Hotel to welcome 100th anniversary of Afghanistan Independence. “In this festival, local foods, local handicrafts, local music and dresses of the country’s five zone provinces have been put for exhibition,” Mostafavi said. Briefing related to exclusive programs held for the past three months by various departments of the ministry of information of culture on the occasion of 100th anniversary of Afghanistan Independence, deputy minister of finance, administration and tourism for information and culture hoped the ministry by holding such programs could fulfill its cultural duty in celebration of the 100th anniversary of the country’s Independence. Afterwards, head of Kabul Serena Hotel in his speech congratulated the 100th anniversary of Afghanistan Independence to all Afghans, asserting that the festival was held by the MoIC and Kabul Serena Hotel to mark the Independence Day of the country.
Meanwhile, advisor to President Ziaulhaq Amarkhil by praising the MoIC for holding the festival said that they were marking the 100th anniversary of Afghanistan Independence amid of increasing civilian casualties caused by suicide attacks and explosions as a number of our countrymen were martyred and wounded in a suicide attack Saturday night in a wedding hall in Kabul. Offering deep condolence and sympathy to the families of those martyred and wounded in the attack, Amarkhil asked all the people of Afghanistan to stop tribal discrimination and get united to work towards rebuilding and development of Afghanistan. During this festival, Obaid Zazai modeling group performed local clothes exhibition. At the end, Mostafavi opened handicrafts exhibition in which home and hand-made products such as carpets, local dresses and clothes, ornaments, paintings and other local products were displayed. The exhibition will be opened from 6:00 pm – 10:00pm every night for four days at Kabul Serena Hotel.
