No Arms Distributed To Local People, MoI

Kabul (BNA) Ministry of Interior Affairs (MoI) has rejected distribution of any kinds of arms to civilians in the country, considering it as baseless.
Speaking in a news conference yesterday, MoI spokesman Seddiq Sediqi said ministry of interior was against militia, rejecting claims saying that arms had been distributed to civilians in a number of provinces.
Ministry of interior had not distributed arms to any civilians and irresponsible individuals so far as the ministry had sufficient national and local police to maintain security in the country and fight against any types of threat, Seddiqi said, declaring the ministry’s support from recent uprising of the people against terrorists.
Related to terrorist incident happing Monday night in Kandahar, Sediqi said two terrorists attacked on Kandahar teacher training and hostel in which a woman was killed and two police injured, adding that police save all those entrapped in hostel. Sediqi also said terrorists attacking on security posts in Sangin, Nawzad and Musa Qala districts of Helmand were sustained numerous casualties. In the conference, MoI spokesman added Daesh was a security threat with which they were facing, saying that intelligence reports saying that Daesh was recruiting Taliban individuals for their interest. Sediqi said that Afghan security forces were ready to fight new challenges implemented by Taliban in the country.
