There Is No Place for Child Labor in Our World: UNICEF

KABUL (BNA) UNICEF called for an end to child labor in Afghanistan, coinciding with World Day Against Child Labor on Sunday, June 12, 2022.

The call comes at a time when millions of children are working in Afghanistan, UNICEF wrote on its official website on Sunday “there is no place for child labor in our world,”.

“Every child has the right to play, to learn, and to be just a child,” said the UNICEF Representative in Afghanistan on the occasion of World Day Against Child Labor.

The International Labor Organization also tweeted that “it is strengthening its cooperation with UNICEF to address the problem of child labor in Afghanistan.”

It should be noted that with the escalation of economic problems in Afghanistan, hundreds of thousands of children have turned to street work and other hard work to help their families.

UNICEF has said it has emphasized these children through various means, and by the end of this year, it will hold 15,000 ‘social’ education classes for children in Afghanistan.

June 12 has been declared by the United Nations as International Day Against Child Labor.
