Kabul (BNA) At least 83 armed rebels were killed and 74 others were wounded following clearing operations led by Afghan security personnel within the last 24 hours in different parts of the country.
The operations were conducted with support of Afghan air and artillery forces to suppress anti-government militias, ensure peace and stability and protect the lives and properties of people in insecure areas of Nangarhar, Kunar, Laghman, Ghazni, Paktia, Kandahar, Faryab, Sar-e-Pul, Farah and Helmand provinces.
Taliban shadow deputy district governor for Sancharak district of Sar-e-Pul province is among the dead, the source added.
It is mentionable that 4 vehicles, 36 motorcycles and four hideouts of the terrorists group have been discovered and destroyed following the operations.
