Kabul (BNA) President Hamid Karzai in his meeting with some elders from Helmand and Zabul provinces called the presidential elections an important national process and stressed that we will hold the elections.
In the meeting held at the Presidential Palace yesterday afternoon, President Karzai with respect to rumors that election will be delayed said that we shall hold the elections as it is to the benefit of Afghanistan because continuation of power without election put the legitimacy of order in question.
He called on the elders of Helmand and Zabul to encourage your men and women to take active part at the elections for having voting card and participation at elections means using of power and you should use your right to the interest of person of your choice.
While governors of Helmand and Zabul were also present, some elders asked for increment of voting centers in their provinces and the centers’ security should be maintained to enable the people to refer to the centers with peace of mind, get cards and use their votes.
