“We Will Not Hurry Over Signing of Security Agreement With US:” President Karzai

Kabul (BNA) President Hamid Karzai in his meeting at the presidential palace with his advisor ministers discussing national issues including the Afghan-US security treaty and elections, said that Afghanistan following studying of the draft of the security agreement which was dispatched by the US, has incorporated its viewpoints in accordance with its national high interests and the benefit of the people of Afghanistan and presented it to the US side.  
He added that Afghanistan has no hurry over signing of security agreement and wants that the interests of the country are precisely taken into account in the treaty. 
He stressed that the security agreement between the two nations should be based on the level of two independent nations and the interests of Afghanistan including ensuring of peace and security, national unity, territorial integrity and strengthening of the security forces is preserved in it.
He noted that signing of the security treaty with the US should lead towards peace and stability in the country.
As regards the elections he noted that presidential election will be organized and the person to whom the Afghan national will vote should consider the Badakhshan mountains to the san deserts of Nimruz and the people of Afghanistan his own, should not be revenge-seeker, be flexible and tolerable towards his people.
He considered the concerns with respect to the year 2014 a propaganda tool and added that they are trying to make our minds busy with such publicities.
