Implementation Of 3rd Phase Of Handing Over Of Security Responsibility Begins In Kunar

Kunar (BNA) In the framework of third phase of handing over of security responsibility from foreign forces to Afghan security forces of three districts and capital city of Asad Abad began the other day.
The local authorizes of this eastern province say that hereafter, the security of Noor Gul, Chauki and Narang and city of Asad Abad city would be maintained by Afghan security forces.
Previously, the US forces beside Afghan security forces were established in these areas.
In handing over ceremony, Kunar governor, Fazlullah Wahedi asked Afghan government to train Afghan forces in light and heavy weapons.
He said that despite lack of necessary equipments, the Afghan forces are ready to maintain security in this province.
At this ceremony, tribal dignitaries asked the Afghan government authorities and international community to adopt measure for self-sufficiency of Afghan military forces from sophisticated light and heavy weapons point of view.
Deputy security minister at ministry of interior affairs general Abdurrahman Rahman and  general Mohammad Akram Deputy Chief of Staff of army of national defense ministry promised at this ceremony to tribal dignitaries that the process of training and equipping of Afghan security forces would get accelerated as soon as possible.
