No sales of Low-Quality Fuel in Helmand

LASHKARGAH (BNA) Thousand liters of fuel were prevented from selling in Helmand, according to local officials, on Tuesday.

Authorities in the province prevented sales of newly imported fuel trucks from one of the neighboring countries by assessing the quality of the fuel.

The owner of an oil pump station had imported 120,000 liters of low-quality oil from neighboring countries by truck, and it’s being stopped while 55,000 of the totals have remained.

Haji Abid, an official of Helmand, told BNA that their inspection teams are checking the quality of petroleum products in Helmand from time to time.

He warned the dealers that they will face legal action if they start selling low-quality materials.

The mentioned oil has been transferred to Herat back to be returned to Iran, from where the oil was imported, said local officials reports.

Taxi drivers in Helmand told Bakhtar News Agency correspondent that the use of low-quality will cause more pollution.

Helmand residents expressed happiness about the prevention of low-quality fuel sales in the province by the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan.
