South African Investors Show Keen Interest in Afghanistan’s Abundant Natural Resources

 

KABUL (BNA) In a meeting with investors from South Africa, the Acting Minister of Mines and Petroleum referred to Afghanistan as a region abundant in natural resources, encouraging them to invest in the country.

Sheikh Shahabuddin Delawar, the Acting Minister of Mines and Petroleum, met with a group of scholars and traders from South Africa in Kabul on Wednesday, a statement said released by the ministry.

During this meeting, South African traders found the investment conditions and opportunities in Afghanistan highly favorable.

Moreover expressed keen interest in investing in Afghanistan’s mineral resources and sought cooperation from the Ministry of Mines and Petroleum to invest in mining projects.

In response, the Acting Minister of Mines and Petroleum emphasized Afghanistan’s abundant mineral, oil, and gas resources. He noted that several projects, including the 11 oil blocks in the Herat region, are currently in the announcement phase, inviting interested parties to consider investing in these projects.

Meanwhile, the the Acting Minister appreciated the interest of South African investors in Afghanistan’s mineral resources, pledging to cooperate and provide necessary facilitation.
