Bawary Visit Work Project of Stupa in Parwan’s Toupdara

Kabul (BNA) Deputy Minister of culture and art for information and culture Prof. Mohammad Rasoul Bawary paid a visit to renovation work project of stupa of Parwan’s Toupdara.
During his visit to the stupa, Prof. Bawary said that the stupa belonged to era of Koshanyan and was constructed during reign of Great Kunishka, adding that there were also similar stupas in Kabul and Nangarhar. Deputy Minister of culture and art while asking for attention of engineers to the work project stressed on acceleration of work on renovation of the respective stupa. According to representative of consultative organization for preservation of cultural heritage, first part of renovation work on the stupa was started at the beginning of 2017 and continued until end of the year, while the second part of the work project was started in early 2018 and still continuing. Work project on renovation and digging of the stupa is being followed by engineers of directorate for preservation and renovation of historic monuments and archaeologists of directorate of archaeology for Ministry of Information and Culture in cooperation with the respective organization.
