Most Parts of Kunduz’s Khan Abad District Clean-up from Insurgents

Kabul (BNA) Afghan security forces by launching a military operation succeeded to clear most parts of Khan Abad district, northern Kunduz province from being of Taliban fighters.

Abdul Hadi Nazari spokesman of 217 Pamir army corps told BNA reporter, with the arrival of reinforcement troops under the leadership of Col. Abdul Wahid Jahid head of 217 Pamir army corps a clearing operation has started with support of Afghan air forces in Khan Abad district, in which most parts including center of the district have been cleared from existence of Taliban members.

More than, 20 Taliban fighters including Qari Hashim a senior leader of Taliban and commander of “Red Unit” were killed and 10 others were wounded during the operation, Nazari added.

The operation will continued until the district, completely cleared from being of Taliban members, Nazari concluded.
