President Ghani Chairs Rule of Law & anti-Corruption High Council Meeting

Kabul (BNA) Chaired by President Mohammad Ashraf Ghani, as extraordinary meeting of rule of law and anti-corruption high council was held the other day at presidential palace.
At the first part of the meeting, President Ghani talked to second vice president Sarwar Danesh, chief justice Sayed Yousuf Halim, head of independent administrative reforms and civil services commission Nadir Nadiri, head of Afghanistan Independent Human Rights Commission (AIHRC) Shahrzad Akbar, head of Afghanistan Inspection Authority Ghazal Haris and deputy of commission on overseeing the implementation of constitution Naeem Haqmal about development in investigations in connection with alleged sexual abuse in schools in Logar.
In the meeting, it was stressed that the case should be reviewed and investigated by Attorney General Office (AGO) and AIHRC and the respective organs are tasked to share their executions and measures with the people in this regard.
Also, a special committee which has been tasked in framework of AIHRC for reviewing alleged sexual harassment in a number of government institutions delivered its report to the meeting.
Afterwards, needs and priorities of judicial organs’ budget for 1399 fiscal year were discussed.
In the meeting, the country’s President said that needs and priorities of the country’s judicial organs should be included in the budget for 1399 fiscal year.
“Modality of prioritization of budget’s expends of the rule of law’s organs is significant to get touchable results from it,” President Ghani said, adding that infrastructures of the country’s judicial organs is a national program and effort should be made to strengthen the respective organs to build their capacity.
The country’s President stressed that effort should be made towards security of prospectors, judges and modality of appointment of judicial cadres and AGO.
