PAROON (BNA): A devastating landslide in the Nurgaram district of Nuristan province has resulted in the loss of 22 people besides causing financial losses, according to local officials.
Mawlavi Sami-ul-Haq Haq Bayan, the head of Information and Culture in Nuristan province, told BNA that rescue teams and local people have so far managed to retrieve the bodies from under the rubble.
It is unclear how many individuals are trapped under the debris. However, efforts to recover trapped victims continue. The ongoing challenges of rainfall and difficult mountain passage pose a significant obstacle for rescue teams and the public alike, striving to rescue potential survivors and recover those who may have lost their lives.
The total number of fatalities from this natural disaster remains unknown at this time.
