Iran Ready to Expand Trade and Economic Ties with Afghanistan

 

KABUL(BNA): Nooruddin Azizi, Acting Minister of Industry and Commerce, held discussions with Iranian Deputy Minister of Agriculture to discuss expansion of trade and economic relations between the two countries.

As reported by Bakhtar News Agency, in this meeting, Dr. Seyed Mojtaba Noroozi, the Deputy Minister of Agriculture Jihad, and the head of the Veterinary Organization of that country, along with Hassan Kazemi Qomi, the Special Representative and Acting Ambassador of Iran in Kabul, were also present.

Throughout the meeting, deliberations centered on various topics such as increasing and balancing trade between the two countries, transit relations, agricultural development in Afghanistan, establishing a new customs office in Nimroz, and bilateral cooperation in combating agricultural pests. They jointly announced their cooperation on these pertinent matters.

It is worth mentioning that the visit of the Iranian Ministry of Agriculture Jihad delegation to Afghanistan, which includes two deputy ministers, aims to follow up on the agreements signed during the recent visit of Mullah Abdul Ghani Baradar, the Deputy PM for Economic Affairs of Afghanistan, to Iran.
