FM Muttaqi Holds Phone Call with Iranian FM

KABUL (BNA) Foreign Minister Amir Khan Muttaqi in a phone call talked with the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Islamic Republic of Iran, Hossein Amirabdollahian, on Friday evening.

The Ministry of Foreign Afghanistan in a statement said that the Iranian Foreign Minister paying his attribute to the families of the recent powerful quake that caused the death of scores of people assured the continuation of his country’s humanitarian aid for the victims of the natural tragic incidents.

Foreign Minister Muttaqi, while thanking Iran for sharing sympathy and providing aid to the earthquake victims in Paktika and Khost provinces, called for the extension of ties between the two Islamic nations.

Countries around the world delivered humanitarian aid to Afghanistan in the wake of a deadly tragic earthquake in Paktika and Khost provinces, which killed more than 1,200 people and injured about 2,000 others.

The Islamic Republic of Iran one day after the incident delivered a package of humanitarian aid to Afghanistan and vowed to provide more assistance for those who suffered tragic quakes in the southern provinces of Khost and Paktika.
