3 Dead As Rocket Hits School In Logar

Monday, June 01, 2015
Kabul (BNA)  A rocket landed on a school in central Logar province of Afghanistan earlier today, leaving at least two students and a teach dead.
The Ministry of Education (MoE) said the incident took place in Baraki district around 8:00am local time.
A statement by MoE said the Topak preliminary school was targeted in the rocket attack and at least four others were also injured.
The local officials confirming the incident said the injured individuals have been taken to the nearest hospital for the treatment purposes.
No group including the Taliban militants has so far claimed responsibility behind the incident.
Logar is among the relatively volatile provinces in central Afghanistan where anti-government armed militant groups are actively operating in its various districts including Baraki Barak.
Today’s incident comes as the insurgency activities have been rampant since the Taliban group announced its summer offensive earlier last month and since then staged numerous attacks across the country.
