France Committed For Long-Term Cultural Cooperation With Afghanistan

Kabul (BNA) French ambassador to Afghanistan, Zhan Michael Marlo, in a meeting with the country’s Minister of Information and Culture, Abdul Bari Jahani pledged for long-term cultural cooperation with Afghanistan, Bakhtar News Agency reported.
Both sides discussed bilateral cultural ties, with the ambassador presenting reports of his country’s cultural projects, the agency reported. The meeting taken part by Deputy Minister on Cultural Affairs, Musaddiq Khalili and Media Advisor Haroon Hakimi, the ambassador assured of the achievements in this respect, according to the agency. Talking on the arraignment process of the archeology scheme, the French ambassador spoke about the achievements and said the process would be a long-term work of up to four decades, as it consist numerous parts of historical heritages and archeology, the agency quoted.
According to the agency, pledging of up to 450,000 euro of cultural aids to Afghanistan, the French ambassador said his country was committed of long-term cultural cooperation to complete the projects. Talking on the expansion of cultural ties through the two countries’ culturists visit and meetings arrangement, the two sides agreed on the travel of his country’s cultural personalities to Afghanistan to debate on a plan could eliminate the public minds for removal of threats facing by the historical heritages. He said the French institute had been destroyed during a terrorist attack two years ago, would soon be reopened, with a program to help some French known works to be translated into Afghani language and a number of Afghan youth to be professionally trained in different fields in France. Minister Jahani thanked the French ambassador for cooperation in projection of the country’s cultural heritages and both sides spoke on the cooperation agreement, the agency added. Plan on the cultural cooperation agreements had been completed and would be signed after the process was administratively completed.
France had provided support to the country’s cultural affairs since the last more than one decade. According to another report, Minister of Information and Culture ordered publishing of some ten books during his visit to the Baihaqi Book Publishing Center. This is to be mentioned that ten more books are expected to be published by the ministry, this year.
