2nd Lane Road Project of Kabul-Jalalabad Highway a Top Priority, Announces Deputy PM

KABUL(BNA): During a visit to the second lane of the Kabul-Jalalabad Road, the Deputy PM for Economic Affairs announced that the practical work on the project will begin following the esteemed approval from Supreme Leader.

In this visit, key figures such as Mawlawi Amir Khan Muttaqi, the Acting Minister of Foreign Affairs, Mullah Mohammad Esa Sani, the Acting Minister of Public Works, Mawlawi Aminullah Obaid, the Governor of Kabul, and Mullah Mohammad Naeem Akhund, the Governor of Nangarhar, were also present.

During the visit, Mullah Abdul Ghani Akhund, shed light on the critical importance of the second lane of the Kabul-Jalalabad road as a pivotal artery for trade and commerce in the country. With hundreds of cargo and passenger vehicles traversing the first lane daily, he highlighted the pressing challenges of congestion and frequent road accidents, resulting in both human and financial tolls on citizens.

He continued that for the same purpose, the construction of the second lane of this road is essential for reducing traffic accidents, timely transportation of commercial goods, and safeguarding the lives of citizens.

According to the statement, the Deputy Prime Minister, acknowledging the significance of this road, declared that the practical initiation of the second lane project for the Kabul-Jalalabad Highway ranks among their foremost priorities. With the esteemed approval of the Supreme Leader, practical endeavors on this crucial road will promptly commence.
