Al–Qaeda, Daesh Enemies of Region, Abdullah

Kabul (BNA) Dr. Abdullah Abdullah, the Chief Executive of the country, during his three day visit to the neighboring Iran, separately met with Iranian Supreme Leader, Ayatollah Seyed Ali Khamenei, President Hassan Ruhani and Foreign Minister Jawad Zarif, the BNA reported.
The leader of the Islamic Republic of Iran said his country has supported the Jihad of Afghanistan and noted his country’s not hesitation to host the Afghan refugees, the agency said.
According to the agency, Khamenei said wide numbers of Afghan youth have helped develop their education and graduate from different Iranian universities, hoping the government of Afghanistan could use the high capacities for development of the country.
Meanwhile, the chief executive thanked the Iranian leader for his country’s optimism to provide enough cooperation in different fields and asked for expansion of the relations between the two countries, the agency further added.
The CE also asked for joint efforts of the two countries in war on the common extremism and terrorism threats, the BNA further said.
The CE also met with Dr. Hassan Ruhani, President of the Islamic Republic, with Ruhani pointing to the background of the two nations relations said that his country has supported Afghanistan during Jihad against the Russian occupation and stood alongside Afghanistan in war on terror.
“The Islamic Republic is concerned of security situation in Afghanistan and unfortunately, those who have tortured the people are still in the country,” said Ruhani who added his country was fully willing security and stability in the war suffered nation.
He said his country supported the National Unity Government and peace in Afghanistan means stability of the region, the agency said.
Both sides also discussed some key issues among them, legalization of the Afghan refugees in Iran, fighting drugs, finding wise and acceptable water solution between the two countries, economic cooperation, completing the project connecting Afghanistan to railway through the Afghanistan’s western Herat province and cultural cooperation between the two countries, the agency continued.
Meanwhile, CE Abdullah assured Ruhani of his country’s full preparation for eradication of drugs as saying there was firm political determination for campaign against drugs cultivation and production.
Poppy cultivation reduced by 25% this year in the cournty, said Abdullah adding his country was committed to provide enough efforts to fight drugs production and trafficking in the country, where the wicked plant, he said was mostly growing in the areas under the Taliban and terrorists control. In his meeting with Jawad Zarif, the Iranian foreign minister, the country chief executive said al-Qaeda and Daesh are the enemies of the region and there was a need to jointly fight against the wicked phenomenon.
Zarif also said his country was fully concerned of Daesh and security situations in Afghanistan and was ready to provide cooperation in war on terrorism, the agency said.
Zarif also said there was a common and close link among Iran, Russia, India and the Middle East for a joint cooperation in war on terror and insuring peace and stability in Afghanistan. The CE meanwhile said both Taliban and al-Qaeda were the enemies of the reigion and they should be fought without being differed.
