Kabul Bank’s $480m Recovered: Acting AG

Kabul (BNA) Acting Attorney General, Noor Habib Jalal said that 480 million US dollars have been recovered from people who owed to the former Kabul Bank.
Addressing a press conference here yesterday, he said that all the movable and immovable assets of the people were indebted to the Kabul Bank have been frozen and police have been asked to bring these people to the Attorney General Office. 
Among 227 people, 50 of them are indebted to the Kabul Bank have cleared their cases, the acting attorney general said, efforts are underway to take back the owes from the remaining persons.
Investigation of the cases of 24 officials of the urban development ministry accused of embezzlement have been completed and would soon be referred to the court, he added, saying the Attorney General Office would continue to fight against corruption.
